Luella’s heart shoe collaboration with Georgina Goodman was hard to resist from the Spring 2009 collection.

It’s kind of like pastel candies meets the 1950s.

I’m usually not one for pastel colours but these shoes are really, too cute!

It’s actually a shame that these images don’t show the rear of the shoe.

The ankle strap version has a die cut/hole punch/cut out like heart shape at the rear of the shoe.

I prefer those to the t-bar version, but they’re all georgeous nonetheless.

Luella Bartley first debuted her collection in the Spring/Summer 2000 season.

Unfortunately earlier this month (November 2009) Luella announced that it had ceased trading due to the withdrawal of it’s current backer and are now seeking a new one, although they are currently exploring their available options.

I’m sure that regardless of the outcome this won’t be last we see of Luella.

The fashion world was abuzz last month with Alexander McQueen’s Spring/Summer 2010 Collection: Plato’s Atlantis.

There’s also a great interview with McQueen himself, speaking not only about the collection and his inspiration, but he also allows us a glimpse into the inner workings of the man the behind the design.

The Plato’s Atlantis Collection has been described as wonderful through to confusing and grotesque, but that’s interpretation for you. With the relevation that McQueen enjoys scuba diving, one can definitely see the underwater inspiration.

From the show, the models and the collection reminded me of seahorses, coral and underwater reptiles. (Though, if one thinks of a seahorse, the hoof-like shoe makes me think of… well one can imagine.)

These heels, one of the three prominent designs in the collection came in a white and the other colours (aqua, black, blue, pearl, purple & silver) appeared to have more of a pearlescent colouring.

To me this design gives me more of a Gigeresque fossilised feeling.

All three heels are sported by Lady Gaga in her latest video clip for the single, Bad Romance.

It wouldn’t surprise me if I possibly break my unwritten rule here of trying not to add shoes from the same designer/collection, consecutively.

Even though we’re fast moving into the 2010 season I confess I’m absolutely smitten with a selection of shoes from Charlotte Olympia well over a year on. When the stars in the universe align for the lucky few, this is probably the result.

If I’ve calculated correctly – this will be her fourth season. Yet, her shoes project a timeless sort of aura, and, reading of her “It’s all or nothing.” and affection for old school glamour, it’s like someone is echoing my own private Love Stiletto sentiments.

Using names for her collection such as Show Time, Orient Express, Vaudeville and Big In Japan, Charlotte Dellal is certainly not afraid of going for broke.

I think there are several heels that could’ve spanned across a few seasons, but then, why the hell not? You only live once, I suppose.

Okay that’s enough, before I risk sounding like a sycophant.

You can see exactly why these heels are called Mercury (from the Show Time line) but for some reason whenever I see wings I always think of Icarus.

Ruthie Davis is well known for her in Italian made shoes and her unique little brass button looking embellishments her heels. (Her blog is interesting too, if you’d like to have a peek on the inner workings of what it takes to make a Ruthie Davis heel.)

These flouro grafitti pumps were worn at at the WMA by Solange Knowles in late 2008.

They kind of take me back to my childhood because they remind me of liquorice allsorts.

I just couldn’t resist these bright orange heel reminding us of pumpkins on All Hallow’s Eve. The KG Eleanor Courts sport a gorgeous metallic heel.

I love that high heels are back with a vengeance!

Goodness, my heart did a little flip-flop over these heels.

I am not usually someone for pink, although I admit for awhile I had an obsession with fuschia during its short stint as all the rage.

Georgina Goodman’s Hilde heels kind of scream “Look at me!”, all the while, not really caring. It’s almost like the bad boy you really can’t help but want.

There is also a little winged embellishment on the rear. It’s unusual, but I think they’d still be great without it.

Personally it’s the detail of the black going into the pink on heel that I really like. (Not to mention the candy-striped sole.)

It also came in a black & red.

ZU is an interesting brand, since it’s not very often that you can buy decent leather shoes for under $100.

Melody is a bit of classic, retro and vintage roled into the one shoe. I can imagine getting away with this in an office (depending on what sort of office you work in), and still being able to wear them out for after work drinks.

It also comes in a full black.

Gucci, you sure do know a way to a girl’s heart.

I recall the first time I saw the ‘Scarlett’ Lace Peep Toe on the back of the Myer publication.

It was love at first sight.

I made my way to the department store, and as I made my way across the shoe department I was caught up behind a family of women all tittering excitedly. They were talking about Scarlett.

Unfortunately it was not meant to be.

The store assistant knew nothing of Scarlett and suggested they would probably not get the heels in. Even months later when I spotted you online at Tracey Ross (which sadly closed at the start of this year [2009]), she didn’t have my size.

I think I will always remember Scarlett as ‘The One That Got Away’.
